I’m so excited to tell you about this new jewelry line because it was started by a friend of mine from college, Donna Lipin. Donna and I met freshman year – we both lived on the 15th floor of Towers (the best floor!). I always knew Donna was a talented artist and had great style (I used to borrow clothes from her all the time!), so I shouldn’t be surprised by how much I love these leather cuffs she’s been making. She calls her line Outlaw Candy and this is how she describes it:
I keep saying its ‘when vintage meets rock and roll’ which is kind of my personal style. I’ve always worn cuff bracelets but don’t always like the ones I find in stores. A jewelry obsession is something that runs in my family. The majority of charms are some flea markets, some have been passed down. I always find things and don’t always know what to do with them but some fit perfectly with what I’m doing now. Not all the charms are vintage. Some are from jewelry I’ve had that’s fallen apart…so I’m giving a second life and repurposing charms either way.
Although many of her pieces use vintage elements, they feel very cool and very current…
Don’t you love them? I love statement jewelry, so these are right up my alley. And she’ll be setting up a pop up shop at HOME on the 9th – so be sure to stop by to check these out plus the rest of her line! Oh, and have I mentioned that we’ll also be celebrating our one year anniversary on the 9th 🙂 For more info on the event and to RSVP, go here.
